Old man Riverton only cares about the money and not his dogs that he abuses. He sends two of his dogs to a place known as "the pit." This place the pit is where the dogs are sent when they are useless. Janet doesn't survive, but Old Lucky is the "lucky" one who survives and gets rescued by Thomas and Doctor Watson. Little does Old man Riverton and the other trainers know what is in store for them.
